On May 4, 2017, AFHF members, current and future board members, and honored guests met at the Army Navy Country Club to conduct the Foundation’s Annual Membership meeting. Among other things, new board members were elected and modifications to the Foundation bylaws were approved.
At the meeting’s conclusion all present gathered for a luncheon featuring a presentation by USAF retired CMsgt Marlyn R. Bonacker. He related his World War II experience as a B-17 tail gunner, including a crash and subsequent capture by the Germans on his first combat mission.
Chief Bonacker was introduced by retired USAF General Frank Gorenc, whose final assignment was Commander, United States Air Forces Europe and Africa.
Outgoing President and Chairman Major General Dale Meyerrose presented Chief Bonacker with a plaque to commemorate the occasion.
