Air Force Historical Foundation Set to Hold 2022 Annual Awards Banquet

Joint Base Andrews, MD (April 26, 2022): The Air Force Historical Foundation will hold its 2022 Annual Awards Banquet on Wednesday, June 1, at the Army Navy Country Club in Arlington, VA.

The Air Force Historical Foundation’s Annual Awards were established to honor specific individuals and units dedicated to the making and documentation of Air Force and Space Force History.

This year’s award winners will include General John W. Raymond, Chief of Space Operations, United States Space Force (General Carl A. “Tooey” Spaatz Award); Dr. Daniel L. Haulman (Major General I.B. Holley Award); and the 28th Bomb Wing, Ellsworth AFB (General James H. “Jimmy” Doolittle Award).

“We’re very excited to celebrate the impressive achievements of our 2022 Honorees,” said Air Force Historical Foundation’s Chairman of the Board, General Mike Holmes, USAF (Ret). “These award winners have dedicated themselves and their unit to determined, exemplary service and played essential parts in the making and recording of Air Force and Space Force history. We could not be prouder to bestow these honors on them.”

The Annual Awards Banquet is open to the public for a cost of $75 per ticket. Tickets may be purchased on the Air Force Historical Foundation’s website, afhistory.org, or by phone at 301-736-1959. The event will begin with a cocktail hour at 5 pm Eastern and the formal ceremony with dinner immediately following at 6 pm Eastern. Attire for the evening is service dress/business formal.

Founded in 1953 by General Carl A. “Tooey” Spaatz and other airpower pioneers, the Air Force Historical Foundation is dedicated to preserving the history and traditions of American aviation and space capabilities. The Foundation’s primary emphasis is on the U.S. Air Force, the U.S. Space Force, predecessor organizations, and the individuals whose lives and dreams have been and continue to be devoted to flight and space operations.
