1961: USAF launches a solid-fuel air-to-surface missile, the GAM-83B Bullpup, at supersonic speed from an F-100 Super Sabre. This modified Navy Bullpup missile could carry a nuclear weapon or could be guided by the pilot of the parent aircraft to its target.
